DENVER - A group of anti-fracking activists delivered 14,000 signatures in support of a moratorium on hydraulic fracturing to Governor Hickenlooper Wednesday.
The governor, a Democrat, says Colorado's rules disclosing fracking chemicals are tough enough and a model for the rest of the country.
Environmentalists have long felt the former geologist is too friendly to the oil and gas industry. They want fracking halted in order to study the long-term impact on health and the environment.
Hickenlooper recently told Congress he drank fracking fluid.
The Governor's Office chose not to issue a response to the group - or its petition.
