BOULDER - University of Colorado Police are trying to make crime reporting more efficient and convenient by offering a new, online crime reporting system.
It's not intended for reporting crimes that are in progress or other emergencies. It's main use is for reporting crimes including bike or computer thefts, graffiti and traffic or pedestrian related concerns.
Until now, reporting those crimes required an officer to interview witnesses and put together a police report.
"This new tool provides an online convenience for students and others who want to report crimes on campus," CU-Boulder Police Chief Joe Roy said. "It will also free up officers to spend more time on the street focusing on directed problem solving, such as preventing bike thefts and more serious crimes."
