FORT LUPTON – A large cow was rescued from a mud pit in Fort Lupton on Tuesday.
Fort Lupton Fire Protection and nearby neighbors used a backhoe to lift the animal from the mud. The cow was stuck near Colorado Road 8 and Colorado Road 29 in Fort Lupton.
The cow was too weak to stand on her own and the fire department did not know how long the cow was in the mud. A vet on scene evaluated the cow, but the condition of the animal is not currently known.
Fort Lupton Fire Protection says the neighbors, Chance Willard and Ken Burrough, deserve most of the credit for rescuing the cow.
