Boys spent night in Moffat County wilderness

MOFFAT COUNTY - Two boys have been reunited with their family after they spent the night in the wilderness around 35 miles northeast of Craig.

The Moffat County Sheriff’s Office says the boys – who are 9 and 12 years old – were first reported missing at around 4:30 p.m. Sunday. They were with family at a cabin in the Wilderness Ranches area.

Search and rescue starting looking for the boys, but stopped at around midnight. The search resumed at 7 a.m. – and including an aerial operation. At around 11 a.m., an air medical helicopter was dispatched to find the boys.

A final air operation was success and the boys were located around three miles from where they were last seen.
