Coloradans charged in plot to sell pot in other states

OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. - Nine people have been charged in connection with a conspiracy to harvest marijuana in Colorado and then sell it in Oklahoma and other states.

The U.S. Attorney for the Western District of Oklahoma made the announcement Thursday. Curtis Frank Wagner, 49; Skylar J. Freeman, 25; Shawn N. Maminakis 34, and David Lincoln Steele, 48, all from Crestone, Colorado are named in the complaint. Marty Shellabarger, 67, of Moffatt, and three Oklahoma residents are also named.

The suspects face up to 40 years in federal prison.

The case is being prosecuted in the Western District of Oklahoma by Assistant U.S. Attorneys David P. Petermann and David L. Walling.
