Colorado home-décor business bought by California e-commerce company

DENVER BUSINESS JOURNAL - Deny Designs, an Englewood-based home-décor business, has been acquired by Leaf Group Ltd., the California-based parent of various e-commerce and media brands.

“We are excited to welcome Deny Designs into our Leaf Group portfolio of marketplace brands,” said Sean Moriarty, CEO of Santa Monica, California-based Leaf Group (NYSE: LFGR), formerly known as Demand Media.

“Deny Designs’ artist-driven home goods and accent products are the perfect addition to our fast-growing marketplaces, further strengthening our position within the home décor space," Moriarty said.

In a securities filing, Leaf Group said it bought Deny Design's assets from the company and founder Dustin Nyhus for $6.72 million in cash at closing, 215,540 shares of its stock, and further cash payments totaling $3.6 million spread over the next three years.
