Colorado Latino Hall of Fame inducts new members

KUSA - Colorado's Latino Hall of Fame inducted several new members at a gala in Denver.

  • In all, five individuals and one foundation were honored:
  • Las Animas County Senator Casimiro Barela (Legacy)
  • Federico Peña (Public Service)
  • Rod Tafoya (Business, Innovation, Science, and Technology)
  • Dr. Joe Vigil (Arts, Entertainment, Media, and Sports)
  • Susana Cordova (Unsung Hero).
  • Salazar Family Foundation (Philanthropy and Community Service)

“The story of Latino leadership is often an untold one in our state’s history,” Joelle Martinez said, Executive Director of the Institute. “Latino leaders have made indelible contributions in shaping communities across Colorado. We are ensuring that the Latino legacy of leadership is honorably recognized and never forgotten.”

The Hall of Fame recognizes Latino leaders who have made extraordinary contributions to Colorado's success.

It's put on by the University of Denver's Latino Leadership Institute.
