DPD officer stripped of power after incident

DENVER- District 1 police officer Travis Jackson has been stripped of his police powers and asked to stay home pending the outcome of an internal affairs investigation. Denver Police Department Commander Matt Murray confirmed to 9NEWS that the allegations against Jackson are serious, but there is no criminal investigation at this time.

Denver District Attorney's Office spokeswoman Lynn Kimbrough tells 9News the DA's office reviewed a potential case against the officer last week but did not find evidence to support filing a criminal charge.

An alleged incident took place in north Denver, but Murray did not confirm when it took place or what may have happened.

Jackson has been part of the Denver Police Department since 2000 and is a patrol officer by rank. He has been under investigation since July 9.
