Driver charged in October crash that critically injured bicyclist

KUSA - A 66-year-old man has been charged following the investigation into an Oct. 20 crash in Boulder that left a bicyclist critically injured.

The driver, Martin Rose, has been charged with careless driving resulting in bodily injury, the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release Tuesday afternoon.

They investigated the crash with the Colorado State Patrol’s Accident Reconstruction Team.

Deputies say the bicyclist was riding downhill on northbound McCaslin Boulevard when he collided with a pickup truck driven by Rose.

Rose was headed in the opposite direction, according to the sheriff’s office, and was turning eastbound onto South Indiana Street when the collision happened.

The bicyclist, who was identified only as a 31-year-old man from Louisville, was taken to the hospital in critical condition.
