Father of missing boy arrested after Amber Alert

KUSA - The Colorado Bureau of Investigation canceled an Amber Alert Wednesday night for a 3-year-old boy after the child was located.

The alert was issued after the boy's father, Jarred Spencer, took the child earlier in the day in violation of a protective order.

Larimer County Sheriff's Deputies located the boy safely at 11:30 Wednesday night.

32-year-old Jarred Spencer, of Wellington, was arrested and booked into the Larimer County Jail on numerous charges including second degree kidnapping, assault, menacing, domestic violence and child abuse.

The child went missing in Larimer County around 2 p.m. The Amber Alert was issued around 10 p.m.

Spencer's father called police Wednesday evening and told investigators he believed Spencer was having a paranoid episode and was speaking of a possible bomb in his truck, and people in his attic and basement. Spencer also told his father there were bruises on the child.
