DENVER - So many teens look forward to prom. But what about the ones who are terminally ill, recovering from surgery or just too sick to go?
Children’s Hospital Colorado is making sure that these kids still get the prom experience in its 11th annual prom. Its teen patients will be attending a prom Friday evening with a Roaring 20s theme in the Champions Suite at Sports Authority Field at Mile High.
All 14- to 19-year-old patients that have received a serious medical condition diagnosis in the past few years have been invited. The prom will have not just dancing but a buffet dinner, ice-breaker games, airbrush tattoo, caricature artists, a raffle and more.
There’ll be prom prep for the teens as well, with an afternoon of hair styling, makeup, manicures and a “man cave” for the boys.
More than 75 teens are expected to attend. And Denver Broncos cheerleaders and mascot Miles will be there as well.
