Osprey in the snow sums up how we feel about this storm

BOULDER COUNTY - Boulder County Open Space has a live camera focused on an Osprey nest, and watching the birds protect their eggs sums up our feelings about this May storm.

Both mom and dad look pretty miserable as they take turns braving the cold and snow to protect their 4 eggs. Makes you feel thankful for your cozy, warm, dry house.

The nest is located just east of the Cattail pond at the Boulder County Fairgrounds according to the county web site. In 2003, the pair began nesting on a light pole but were moved by wildlife biologists to their current location for their safety.

Osprey migrate south every year.  The male and female migrate and winter separately but return to the same nesting site each year.

in 2016, there were four eggs, but only one chick survived. You can watch its first flight in the video below.
