HILLSBORO, MO. (KSDK) - A dog family members say was stolen from their Pueblo area yard 5 years ago will be back in Colorado this weekend.
Missy was picked up as a stray on September 15 near Hillsboro, Missouri. That's about 800 miles away from her family.
Animal control workers found an ID chip with outdated information, but two women were determined to reunite the dog with her owners.

Brandi Cross tracked the owners to the Pueblo area through Facebook. She found out Missy was purchased a companion dog for as a child with special needs.
"This dog has a million stories to tell," said Cross.
Her friend Melissa Morton is leaving Missouri on Friday to make the drive there to return Missy.
“They do have two children who are special needs so travel for them is not easy,” said Morton of the family she plans to meet in person over the weekend. "We could put the dog on a plane and send it to them, but that's just really impersonal."
A lot of people are getting involved in helping this dog and her family. The county executive stepped in and waived fees from animal control and an Enterprise office in Missouri donated a rental car for $10 a day.
