Firestone explosion victims identified

We've just learned the names of the two people killed in a house explosion in Weld County.

FIRESTONE - Fire investigators with the Frederick-Firestone Fire Protection District say autopsy reports will be critical in figuring out what caused a deadly house explosion in Firestone on Monday.

The two men who died in the explosion were identified Thursday as 42-year-old Mark Martinez of Firestone and 42-year-old Joseph Irwin III of Frederick. 

University Hospital is not releasing the condition of the third victim, Erin Martinez, who survived the explosion. Martinez is a science teacher at Mountain Range High School.

The tight-knit community of Firestone has been helping Martinez as she's recovering in the hospital by collecting donations in the form of money, gift cards and clothing.

The Rocky Mountain Christian Church as well as BlackJack Pizza have been collecting donations.

A GoFundMe page has also been set up for the family: GoFundMe.com/mark-erin-and-family. The GoFundMe page had raised more than $76,000 as of Wednesday evening.
