Fort Carson detains 1 over 'threatening' behavior

FORT CARSON, Colo. (AP) - Fort Carson officials say one person has been detained after acting in a "suspicious and threatening" way on the infantry post outside Colorado Springs, but no one was hurt and no weapon was found.

Officials say a building was evacuated during the incident Wednesday.

Officials say the person had a medical appointment and made statements suggesting he or she had a weapon.

Fort Carson stepped up security after a soldier at Fort Hood, Texas, killed three other people and himself on April 2. The additional measures taken at Fort Carson haven't been disclosed.

Fort Carson is home to the 4th Infantry Division and other units.
