Homeowner, dog escape Evergreen fire

EVERGREEN - A homeowner and his dog escaped a house fire in Evergreen Wednesday night.

According to Evergreen fire officials, the fire broke out in the 34000 block of Forest Estates Road just before midnight. Four departments were called to fight the fire.

Most of the damage was on the second and third floors. Water trucks were sent to the scene since no hydrants were in the area.

The cause of the fire is unknown at this time.

The flames were visible miles away.

JeffCo fire crews said the homeowner moved into the house just two weeks ago.
