How 4th graders can get a free Christmas tree

KUSA - Have a kid in fourth grade? They’re not just eligible for free access to federal lands and waters – they can also get a free Christmas tree permit!

It’s part of the Every Kid in a Park initiative, which is a nationwide call to action aimed at getting kids outside and interested in conservation.

The forest service will be giving the permits to every interested fourth grader who has a 4th Grade Pass or paper voucher. To register for the pass, head here:

You can redeem the passes at White River National Forest. Only one tree is allowed per fourth grader.
