Hundreds respond to help dying woman's dog

FORT COLLINS – Hundreds of people have reached out to help a terminally-ill woman from Northern Colorado, whose last wish is to find a new home for her dog.

More than 400 people have emailed and 150 have called since 9NEWS first aired her story Monday afternoon.

Patricia Cudd was diagnosed with Stage 4 breast cancer. For the last few years she's been living in a cramped motel room with her dog "Sherlock."

"He's my best friend," Cudd said as she choked back tears.

Cudd is sifting through every call and email to find the perfect fit. She's looking for someone who has no other pets or children in the home.
