Colorado unemployment dips even more; lowest in 4 decades

Colorado's unemployment rate is 2.3 percent.

DENVER BUSINESS JOURNAL - Colorado posted a new record low unemployment rate in April at 2.3 percent.

That is a dip from March's rate at 2.6 percent -- which was a four-decade low dating back to when state record keeping began in 1976.

The state's employers added 1,800 nonfarm jobs to their payrolls in April – a number slightly lower than previous months, the Colorado Department of Labor and Employment reported today.

Last month's payroll-job gain in Colorado was less than half the average increase of 4,192 over the last 12 months.
