DENVER BUSINESS JOURNAL - McLane Foodservice Inc., a Texas-based company, has acquired 20 acres in a development near Denver International Airport with plans to employ 240 people in a 250,000-square-foot facility.
The facility will be built northwest of the intersection of Pena Boulevard and Tower Road in the Nexus at DIA development, formerly named the DIA Tech Center. Nexus at DIA is being developed by a joint partnership between Schuck Communities and C H Thompson Co. LLC.
Cushman & Wakefield represented Nexus at DIA in the land deal. Work is already underway on the facility and McLane expects to occupy it in mid-2017.
McLane Foodservice Distribution — part of the McLane Co. Inc., a $48 billion supply chain company — provides grocery and food services to convenience stores, mass merchants, drug stores and chain restaurants across the country. McLane is a unit of Berkshire Hathaway Inc. and employs more than 20,000 people.
