ASPEN, COLO. (AP) - Authorities say a Conifer man is dead after falling in the Maroon Bells area near Aspen.
The Aspen Times reports 68-year-old Stevan Sprowles fell Wednesday, and rescuers responded to the area after a personal locator device was activated.
Search crews tracked the device and found Sprowles' 30-year-old hiking partner, who was helped down by two climbers from Boulder.
Investigators have not said how far Sprowles fell.
