AURORA - An Aurora man was shot and killed by an Aurora police officer Friday evening.
Aurora police said they were responding to a call about a man making suicidal threats at a home in the 3300 block of South Nucla Way.
Police arrived on the scene and was immediately confronted by the man holding a rifle in his driveway. He was shot by an officer after he failed to comply with orders to put the weapon down, according to Aurora police.
The man was transported to an area hospital where he was later pronounced dead. Aurora police say no officers were injured during the incident.
The man's identity has not been released.
The officer involved will be placed on administrative leave.
