KUSA - Friends and family dedicated a memorial sign in honor of a teenager hit and killed by a drunk driver in south Denver in July.

The sign is up at the intersection of Yale and Madison, where 14-year-old Cole Sukle was hit and killed in July.

Cole's school is just a few blocks away, and many of his classmates and teachers attended Friday afternoon's sign dedication.

They say he was a positive person, and a light in the community.

"It's a hard reality to realize one of your classmates is no longer with you," Kurt Siebold, principal of Slavens K-8, said. "It's been tough on some of the kids but they've really supported each other and i think they're moving forward in a positive way,"

The 81-year-old woman who hit Cole died days after the crash.

Tests confirm she was driving while intoxicated.
