KUSA - It’s a time for stars to shine.

The ARC “Born to be Me” Gala celebrates all of the people who help the organization provide opportunities for people with developmental disabilities. This year, the special honorees are also getting a pat on the back from some of Colorado’s very own heroes.

“Arc Thrift Stores knows firsthand that there are Heroes Among Us. We are all touched by the lives of heroes every single day. For one special night we will celebrate the Everyday Heroes and our Special ARC Heroes,” the nonprofit organization said in a news release.

Law enforcement officers will join in on the Heroes Among Us celebration taking place on Saturday, Sept. 17 at the Hyatt Regency Denver Tech Center.

The event begins with a social hour at 5:30 p.m. It continues with dinner, live music, a live auction and an awards program for ARC Ambassadors. The ambassadors are special needs ARC employees who learn from the group’s various programs and make an impact in other people’s lives.

The event also features a silent auction with one-of-a-kind refurbished furniture found at ARC Thrift Stores.

Tickets are $75 for young professionals and $150 for individuals. For more information, click here: http://arcborntobeme.org/
