KUSA - All this month I’ve been adhering to a pledge to avoid online shopping.
Not only have I been able to keep from buying anything, I’ve not even looked at some of my favorite items.
Those are, by the way, cars, musical instruments, electronics, and outdoor/camping equipment.
So how have I been feeling? Antsy at times.
Did not fully realize how much “brain in neutral” time I spent idling online looking at stuff.
At the same time, I’m proud of the self-control and the fact that I have identified things that I can and want to do that I now have plenty of time to do!
Every now and again I still need to curb the impulse to reach for my phone to get a “Craigslist fix”.
I wouldn’t consider myself as someone with a compulsive shopping problem, but it can be addictive.
If you or someone you know has real problems with online shopping, here are some resources that hopefully may be able to help.
