KUSA - You may be surprised that there’s a world pinball champion, let alone that he's a Coloradan.
It gets unbelievable when you learn he’s 13 years old and beat adult contenders for his title.
But that’s Escher Lefkoff, who won the A-division title at the Professional & Amateur Pinball Association World Championship. Lefkoff said he started playing pinball when he was two years old.
He had the opportunity, as the family barn is full of pinball machines.
“So when people imagine barns, they think, you know, a place to put horses or sheep or something,” Lefkoff’s father said. “Well, I keep pinball machines in my barn.”
Anyone who wants to be a competitive pinball player wants to win the world championship, Lefkoff’s father said. He still gets chills that his son achieved that feat.
“That’s going to be one of the greatest memories in my entire life,” Lefkoff’s father said.
They carried the 50-something-pound trophy through the airport, with people wanting to take pictures with Lefkoff and his trophy.
