The United passenger who got manhandled down the aisle for refusing to be bumped from a flight is the latest American to be publicly humiliated for his past after getting accidentally famous.

Dr. David Dao had been in legal trouble years ago, which of course has nothing to do with the fact that Chicago aviation police dragged him around like a rag doll.

Remember the telegenic guy on the tour group was surprised live during the Oscars? And then it came out he just got out of prison.

Or Ken Bone, the red-vested voter at the debate, whose questionable online activities were made public after his question to the presidential candidates made him a star?

Shame on us in the media for shaming people who have done nothing wrong but accidentally becoming famous in a society looking to make a new star every day.
