Nonprofit gives spinal cord injury survivors independence

DENVER – Colorado nonprofit Blood Brothers Foundation is giving spinal cord survivors in financial need free vehicle modification services.

These fixes include hand control devices and chair lifts.

Brother Brothers Founder Andrew Blood is a T-12 paraplegic who suffered a spinal cord injury while working in 2004. He says that regaining the freedom to drive meant everything to him.

"Regaining my independence after my accident was my number #1 priority and most desirable goal," he said in a news release.
