PD: missing man has mental conditions, left home without shoes

He was last seen Friday night around 11. He left his home near Harvard Street and Mountain View Avenue

KUSA - Police are asking the public to keep an eye out for a missing man who is considered to be at risk.

Aravind Elangovan,19, walked away from his Longmont home in the 1400 block of Harvard Street on Friday around 11 p.m.

He was last seen wearing a long black wool coat, a long sleeved, blue T-shirt and boxer shorts. He was not wearing pants or shoes.

Police say Elangovan suffers from various mental conditions and has no vehicle, no wallet, ID and no cell phone.

"A combination of the manner in which he left the house, the manner in which he was dressed and his mental impairment increase Aravind’s risk to himself," Longmont Police said in a press release.

Elangovan is 6 feet, 1 inch tall and weighs 195 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes.

He often frequents parks in northwest Longmont and the Mount Sanitas trail west of Boulder. He attends Brown University in Providence, RI and may be trying to make his way there.

If seen, you're urged to call the Longmont Police Department at 303.651.8501.
