KUSA - A 67-year-old man from Denver is dead after he was hit by a car on Interstate 76 near 88th Avenue, according to the Colorado Department of Transportation.

The eastbound lanes of I-76 reopened after over three hours of being shutdown, CDOT says.

The crash was reported sometime before 7 p.m.

Colorado State Patrol did not say what led to the crash that killed him. Investigators do say he was in the road for an unknown reason - without a car nearby.

Alcohol does not seem to be a factor in the wreck, per CSP.
