KUSA - Monday marked the third night of Hanukkah, and people gathered along the Pearl Street Mall for the annual lighting of the menorah.
As is the tradition with Hanukkah, there was more than just the lights. There were the latkes, jelly doughnuts, and since it was the Pearl Street Mall, there were plenty of performers too.
"The message of Hanukkah is to keep on bringing that light into the world," Rabbi Pesach Scheiner said. "A lot of times we have a lot of darkness and we can get overwhelmed, and we say no. Hang onto positive things, and not only will you not be conquered by the darkness, but you overcome the darkness and bring light into the world, and make the world a happy and good place."
There are eight nights of Hanukkah with the festival of lights wrapping up this year on New Year's Day.
