Slavery reference to stay in Colorado constitution

9NEWS @ 4. 11/22/2016

KUSA - The Colorado measure aimed at eliminating a reference to slavery in the state constitution will not pass.

There aren't enough uncounted votes to change the outcome of the vote.

Amendment T would have eliminated an 1876 reference that reads: "There shall never be in this state either slavery or involuntary servitude, except as a punishment for crime."

Confusing ballot language is being blamed for its defeat.
