Rockies' fan claims police used excessive force

DENVER - A Colorado Rockies fan claims he was the victim of excessive force used by a Denver police officer on Tuesday.

The fan, 22-year-old Alex Buck, says police got involved after there was suspicion of underage drinking.

In the video shared with 9NEWS, the officer asks Buck to sit down. Buck asks the officer if he could explain what happened, while ignoring the officer's request.

The video then shows the officer shoving Buck several times.

Buck says he was escorted out of the stadium and was not charged with any criminal activity.

Denver Police says its Internal Affairs Bureau is investigating the incident.

The Denver Police Department tweeted the following late Thursday:

COMMUNITY: We want everyone to know that Chief White "hears" your concern about the recent video involving DPD. He is closely monitoring... the investigation and will share the results with everyone when appropriate. If the investigation results in a violation then the officer will be held accountable. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we investigate.
