AURORA - A kitten was rescued from a sewer pipe Friday night in Aurora.
A spokesman for Aurora Fire Rescue says someone came to Aurora Fire Station 1 asking for help rescuing the kitten. That person said the kitten was stuck about 8 feet down a slick PVC pipe in the 1700 block of Dayton Street.
Members of Aurora Engine 1, Rescue 1, Aurora Animal Control and Aurora Water all worked together to help free the tiny black kitten.
They came up with a plan to cut a towel to create a rope to drop down into the pipe. Once it was fed into the pipe, the kitten used its claws to grip the towel and was pulled to safety.
Aurora Fire Rescue posted a short video of the rescue on its Facebook page.
