Snowboarder says skier pushed him off chairlift

KUSA – A snowboarder says he was pushed off the Loge Peak chairlift at the Aspen Highlands by a skier who was seemingly offended by a comment he made Sunday morning about fresh powder.

That's according to a report by the Aspen Times, which spoke to snowboarder Seth Beckton about the fall.

Beckton told the newspaper he fell 20 to 25 feet into a large pocket of powder. He wasn't hurt, and said he didn't immediately report the incident because he didn't want to ruin his powder day.

He says it wasn't until he told his friends what happened that he realized the severity of the situation.

A spokesman for Aspen Skiing Company told the Aspen Times they would have had better luck finding the skier if they knew about the incident earlier.

The skier is described by Beckton as wearing gray pants, a two-toned jacket that was partially burgundy colored and partially tan, a silver Giro helmet and older Smith googles.
