ELDORADO SPRINGS - Around 8:30 a.m. Tuesday, Boulder County Sheriff's deputies were called to an area of Rattlesnake Gulch in Eldorado Canyon State Park on a report of a vehicle in South Boulder Creek.
When crews arrived, they found an unoccupied 2012 Honda SUV in the creek.
The Honda had traveled an estimated 100 feet down a steep embankment.
Rescue personnel began a search of the area and briefly closed the park. A short time later they found the driver, a 32-year-old man from Superior. He was being helped down the trail by a good Samaritan.
The man was the only occupant of the SUV. He was taken to a hospital for evaluation.
The wreck is under investigation. Alcohol or drugs are not suspected as factors in the crash.
