Vail gas leak repaired, evacuees allowed to return

VAIL - A gas leak in Vail has been repaired and At least 600 residents and guests from three hotels were allowed to return around midnight.

Vail Fire said a construction crew struck a large steel natural gas pipe that ran under a road. It happened near the intersection of West Lionshead Circle and South Frontage Road around 4 p.m. on Wednesday.

There were no injuries reported.

Red Cross was providing food to evacuees.
