Vigil held for Aurora hit-and-run victim

DENVER - It's a story-line getting far too common in our area: a group of people gathering together to remember someone who died in a hit-and-run.

A group gathered Monday night to remember Derek Dahl. Coworkers say he was killed in a hit-and-run crash early Monday morning in Aurora. He worked as a bartender at the Piper Inn on South Parker Road.

Police haven't identified the victim of Monday morning crash, but they do say a man on a motorcycle laid the bike down to avoid an accident with one truck. Police say another truck ran over that motorcyclist, stopped, looked at him, then took off.

Aurora police found both drivers later in the morning.

Police will only say that they are investigating the crash and won't say whether those two drivers have been charged.
