Vigil held for teen killed in Aurora crash

AURORA - Friends and family members of an Aurora teen gathered Monday night to remember and honor the 17-year-old boy killed by a driver suspected of running a red light at about 80 mph.

A vigil was held around 8 p.m. in Aurora for Juan Carlos Dominguez- Palomino. More than a 100 people gathered at the street corner where the crash occurred.

The teen was killed on impact on South Dayton Street at East Colfax around midnight Monday.

The driver could be facing charges including vehicular homicide, driving under the influence and habitual traffic violations.

Police say the driver is in the hospital with minor injuries and will not be arrested or charged until he leaves the hospital.
