LARIMER COUNTY - A fast-moving wildfire prompted multiple evacuations Sunday afternoon near Red Feather Lakes.
The Larimer County Sheriff’s Office says residents in the Mill Creek subdivision and on the east side of County Road 59 between 80C and the state line should evacuate.
Forty three contacts in the Mill Creek subdivision alone have gotten evacuation notices, the Larimer County Sheriff's Office said.
The fire has grown to 300 acres in the area of County Road 59 and Starwood Trail. It is 10 percent contained, and still threatening 30 structures.
There’s no word yet on what caused what's been dubbed the Starwood Fire.
Deputies say evacuated residents should place a towel or sheet on their house that is visible from the road.
There are 40 to 60 firefighters from multiple agencies battling the blaze on the ground. The sheriff's office says they will continue fighting the fire overnight.
More than 100 ground resources will be on the scene by Monday morning.
