EAGLE COUNTY - A fire in Eagle County that sparked on Saturday afternoon reached 40 percent containment on Monday.

About 80 personnel responded to battle the Freeman fire near the Ruedi Reservoir.

Crews dealt with wind gusts up to 30 miles an hour.

The fire was first reported Saturday afternoon off Frying Pan road near Meredith and Thomasville.

The sheriff's office says one structure is threatened by the fire, which has been contained to the north side of Frying Pan Road.

The campground at the east end of Ruedi Redervoir was evacuated voluntarily, and homes in the area received a pre-evacuation notice.

Frying Pan Road near the reservoir has been closed intermittently, but no long term closures are planned.
