Community honors Vietnam veterans in ceremony

Rescuers in eagle county were busy today saving four people after their raft got stuck on a rock in the middle of edwards river

WELD COUNTY - Local Vietnam veterans were honored in a ceremony on Saturday.

The event included a keynote speaker, and a speech from Congressman Ken Buck.

The veterans were presented with official pins and certificates.

"Veterans will talk to other veterans and say 'by the way, you are welcome in the community. The community wants you. The community acknowledges and appreciates you,’" Vietnam Veteran Ronald Britton said.

Weld County commissioners worked with the United States of America Vietnam Veterans to put on the event.

20 Vietnam Veterans were invited to a similar event last November.
