Motorcyclist killed in fiery collision with car in Aurora

AURORA - A man is dead after his motorcycle hit a car and burst into flames Wednesday in Aurora.

Officers responded to the crash around 8:15 p.m. at E. Quincy Avenue and S. Genoa Street. Police say the motorcycle was speeding westbound on E. Quincy Avenue and hit a car making a left turn from S. Genoa Street.

Several witnesses told police the motorcycle did not have a front headlight on.

An Aurora police officer first on scene saw the motorcycle burning and an unconscious man in the street who was not breathing. The officer performed CPR and the man was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The driver of the car remained on scene. There was no immediate word on his or her condition.

The motorcyclist has not been identified and the crash remains under investigation.
