DENVER - There’s a theater company in Denver unlike any other. All of the actors, singers and dancers face very special challenges.
But luckily for them, volunteers like Jack Dorwart are there to help.
Because of his dedication and commitment to the group, Jack is a 9Who Care winner.
The company is a family, only this one is spelled differently.
Phamaly Theater Company features physically disabled actors and artists. Since it was formed in 1989, dozens of people have performed in plays ranging from Shakespeare tp to musicals like Peter Pan, the Wiz and Evita.
Jack helps out backstage, with costume and scene changes among other theatrical duties, but he has done more to help the company over the years.
He’s served on the Board of Directors, and helped the organization with legal advice and fundraising.
Jack knows a thing or two about working with people with disabilities. One of his sons is a paraplegic and the other has Down syndrome.
Maybe that’s why he has so much love and passion for this group.
The members of the company return that love. They say Jack is a very special friend.
He’s a wonderful volunteer, for an amazing organization.
Congratulations Jack Dorwart for being one of this year’s 9Who Care winners!
