KUSA -Some Republicans in the Colorado state legislature want to make it easier for juries to sentence convicted murderers to death.
This week, 9NEWS reported that a Senate bill would eliminate the requirement for a unanimous jury decision to impose the death penalty in Colorado.
On this week's show, that bill's sponsor Sen. Kevin Lundberg (R-Berthoud) and death penalty opponent Rep. Jovan Melton (D-Aurora) go in-depth on the issue and explain their thinking.
Balance of Power airs every Sunday at 8:50 a.m. on 9NEWS, right before NBC's Meet the Press. Episodes and extended interviews are posted on Sundays to 9NEWS.com.
