Who gave to presidential, congressional campaigns in your city?

DENVER BUSINESS JOURNAL - If individual donations to Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton are a harbinger of what’s to come Nov. 8, then this year’s presidential election could go down as one of the most lopsided contests in the history of U.S. campaigns for the White House.

Federal election data show that Hillary Clinton’s campaign for the presidency generated roughly $184.7 million in individual donations from residents of U.S. cities as of Sept. 1, the latest reporting period available. That’s about seven times what the Trump camp had raised as it headed into the final stretch of the election cycle.

The donation figures were provided by the Federal Election Commission and analyzed by American City Business Journals to determine the cities and states where individual donors have provided the most support to the leading candidates for the U.S. presidency.

The figures include contributions from Jan. 1 through Sept. 1 of this year and do not include so-called “soft money” contributions to political action committees that are affiliated with causes and public policies supported by the candidates but are not directly coordinated by them.
