KUSA - 9NEWS was named the local station winner of the first ever Cronkite/Jackson Prize for Fact Checking Political Messages in the Walter Cronkite Awards for Excellence in Television Political Journalism. The announcement came today from the Norman Lear Center at the University of Southern California's (USC) Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism.

KUSA - The last jobs report before the election shows the U.S. unemployment rate is at 7.9 percent for the month of October - which is up 0.1 from the previous month. More workers started looking for jobs, so they now officially count as unemployed.
