AUSTRIA - A fireworks show in Austria Saturday night was the largest of its kind ever in an urban area of Austria.

About 120,000 people watched 4,000 fireworks as they exploded from 45 positions over the Danube River in Linz, Austria.

The show was inspired by the novel "Childhood's End" by British writer Arthur C. Clarke.

The fireworks, accompanied by music, illustrated the story of how extraterrestrial life protected humans.

This new theatrical style of staging fireworks is getting international acclaim.
