The 35-foot-tall sculpture was meant to send a message of "peace, prosperity, health and happiness for all."
The artist and his team said they worked 12 hours a day for three days and used more than 1,800 tons of sand.
The artist was trying to set a world record for creating the largest sand sculpture as part of a sand art festival, but it's unclear whether he achieved the record.
