She recently reached that goal, which set her encounter with the clippers.
Her mother Julie agreed to have her head shaved if her daughter was able to meet her fundraising goal, and both organized a head-shaving event at McGinley's pub in Anchorage.
"Our biggest goal is to bring a sense of normalcy to kids and to let them know that its okay to be bald and that bald can be beautiful and that even beauty queens can be bald," Ebben said.
"To see the look on her face is very exciting," her mother said. "I'm just very, very proud of her and I'd like to do anything I can to support her."
Ebben will compete in the Miss Alaska pageant in June and says she does not plan on wearing a wig.
